Job Description: PFL Football Film Director
Position Overview: As a valued member of the Professional Football League’s management team, the PFL Football Film Department role is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the League’s film operations. This position requires a deep understanding of football game analysis, video editing, and technology systems to support the League’s coaching, scouting, and player development functions. The role involves collaborating with coaches, scouts, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of game footage and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Game Film Operations:
- Coordinate and manage the collection, organization, and distribution of game footage for all League teams.
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of video recording and editing equipment.
- Ensure the timely delivery of game film to coaches, scouts, and other personnel.
- Video Editing and Analysis:
- Utilize video editing software and other tools to create comprehensive game cut-ups, highlight reels, and player-specific clips.
- Collaborate with coaches and scouts to produce scouting reports, opponent breakdowns, and player evaluations.
- Provide technical support and training to coaching staff on video analysis systems.
- Technology Systems and Integration:
- Evaluate and implement video analysis technologies, software, and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Stay up to date with industry advancements and emerging technologies related to football film analysis.
- Collaborate with IT and data analytics teams to integrate video analysis systems with other League platforms.
- Database Management:
- Maintain a comprehensive database of game footage, player profiles, and statistical data.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of sensitive information.
- Develop and implement procedures for data storage, backup, and retrieval.
- Player Development Support:
- Collaborate with the Player Development department to provide video resources and support for player development initiatives.
- Assist in the creation of instructional videos and tutorials for players to enhance their skills and football knowledge.
- Work closely with coaches to provide film-based feedback and analysis for player improvement.
- Scouting Support:
- Collaborate with scouting departments to provide film and analysis support for player evaluation and talent acquisition.
- Assist in creating scouting reports, compiling player profiles, and identifying trends and patterns from game footage.
- Attend scouting events and contribute to the evaluation process when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in sports management, film production, or a related field. Additional certifications or specialized training in video editing and analysis is preferred.
- Proven experience in football film operations, video editing, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of football strategy, game analysis techniques, and terminology.
- Familiarity with Ubuntu LTS, PHP 7.3+, MySQL 5.0+, Apache web server 2.x and similar tools.
- Proficiency in video editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with video analysis systems, such as SportsCode, XOS Thunder, or Hudl.
- Attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality video content within tight deadlines.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to oversee multiple film-related tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with coaches, scouts, and other stakeholders.
- Technical troubleshooting skills and ability to provide support for video analysis systems.
