Job Description: Consumer Marketing Specialist

Position Overview: As a Consumer Marketing Specialist for the Professional Football League, you will play a vital role in developing and executing marketing strategies to drive fan engagement, grow the League’s fan base, and increase consumer loyalty. This position requires a deep understanding of consumer behavior, brand management, and digital marketing tactics. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to implement innovative marketing campaigns and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Marketing Strategy and Campaigns:
  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to promote the League, its teams, and events.
  • Identify target consumer segments and develop targeted campaigns to reach and engage them effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as Creative, Social Media, and Content, to develop compelling marketing materials and assets.
  1. Brand Management:
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the League’s brand identity and positioning.
  • Ensure brand consistency across all consumer touchpoints, including digital platforms, merchandise, and promotional materials.
  • Monitor brand performance, conduct market research, and analyze competitor activities to identify opportunities for brand growth and differentiation.
  1. Digital Marketing and Social Media:
  • Develop and implement digital marketing strategies to maximize online presence and engage fans across digital platforms.
  • Manage social media channels, create compelling content, and drive community engagement.
  • Utilize analytics tools to track and measure the effectiveness of digital marketing campaigns, making data-driven optimizations.
  1. Fan Engagement and Loyalty:
  • Develop and implement fan engagement initiatives to enhance the fan experience and foster loyalty.
  • Collaborate with the Events and Game Operations teams to create memorable fan experiences during games and events.
  • Implement loyalty programs, rewards systems, and personalized communication strategies to deepen fan connections with the League.
  1. Partnership Marketing:
  • Collaborate with the Partnerships and Sponsorships team to leverage partner assets and develop joint marketing initiatives.
  • Assist in the creation of co-branded marketing campaigns, promotions, and activations with sponsors and partners.
  • Track and measure the effectiveness of partnership marketing activities, ensuring mutual benefits for both the League and partners.
  1. Market Research and Consumer Insights:
  • Conduct market research, including surveys, focus groups, and data analysis, to understand consumer preferences, behavior, and trends.
  • Utilize consumer insights to inform marketing strategies, messaging, and targeting.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in consumer marketing.
  1. Budget Management and Reporting:
  • Manage marketing budgets effectively, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and delivering results within budget constraints.
  • Track and report on marketing campaign performance, including key metrics, ROI analysis, and actionable insights.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for stakeholders to communicate marketing results and recommendations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in consumer marketing, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry.
  • Strong understanding of marketing principles, consumer behavior, and brand management.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies, social media platforms, and analytics tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create compelling marketing content.
  • Analytical mindset and proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to develop innovative marketing strategies.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Passion for sports, particularly professional football, and a solid understanding of fan culture and engagement.
