Position Overview: The Game Operations department in the Professional Football League is responsible for managing and executing all aspects of game-day operations and event management. The department plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth and successful game-day experiences for fans, players, coaches, officials, and other stakeholders. Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Game-Day Planning: Collaborate with various internal departments, including marketing, ticketing, security, and facilities, to plan and coordinate game-day operations. Develop detailed game-day schedules and timelines, ensuring all elements are properly organized and executed.
  2. Venue Management: Oversee all aspects of venue management, including facility setup, signage placement, and seating arrangements. Coordinate with facility staff and vendors to ensure the venue is clean, safe, and properly equipped for the game.
  3. Event Staff Management: Recruit, train, and supervise event staff, including ushers, ticket takers, security personnel, and other game-day staff. Ensure appropriate staffing levels and delegate responsibilities effectively to provide excellent customer service and maintain a safe and enjoyable game-day environment.
  4. Fan Experience: Enhance the overall fan experience by coordinating pre-game activities, halftime shows, on-field promotions, and other game-day entertainment elements. Collaborate with marketing and sponsorship departments to execute fan engagement initiatives, giveaways, and special promotions.
  5. Game-Day Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for all game-day communication between internal and external stakeholders, including teams, officials, broadcast partners, and vendors. Coordinate with relevant parties to disseminate important information and address any game-day issues or emergencies.
  6. Broadcast Coordination: Collaborate with broadcast partners to ensure smooth execution of pre-game, in-game, and post-game broadcast elements. Coordinate with production teams to facilitate interviews, on-field presentations, and other broadcast-related activities.
  7. Game Logistics: Coordinate logistics related to team arrivals, equipment transportation, and pre-game warm-ups. Collaborate with teams and league officials to ensure compliance with league protocols and procedures.
  8. Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures for game day events. Coordinate with local authorities, medical staff, and security personnel to ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees.
  9. Vendor and Sponsor Management: Coordinate with vendors and sponsors to ensure their requirements and activations are successfully implemented during game days. Manage relationships, contracts, and deliverables to ensure a positive experience for partners.
  10. Crisis Management: Develop and implement emergency response plans for potential game-day incidents, such as severe weather, security threats, or medical emergencies. Work closely with security personnel and local authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of all attendees.
  11. Game Operations Budget: Assist in the development and management of the game operations budget. Monitor expenses related to game-day operations, including staffing, equipment, supplies, and vendor contracts, to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to budgetary guidelines.
  12. Post-Game Evaluation: Conduct post-game evaluations to assess the success of game-day operations and identify areas for improvement. Collect feedback from fans, staff, and stakeholders to implement enhancements for future games.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sports management, event management, or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience in event management, preferably in a professional sports environment
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
