Job Description: Sales Representative – Professional Football League
The Professional Football League is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Sales Representative to join our team. As a Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role in selling club team memberships, generating revenue and driving ticket sales for our league’s games and events. Your primary focus will be on selling club team memberships, promoting our games to fans, establish corporate partnerships and sponsors, and various stakeholders. You will work closely with internal teams, external partners and sponsors, and stakeholders to maximize sales opportunities and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Generate Ticket Sales: Proactively reach out to existing and potential customers, including season ticket holders, corporate clients, and fan groups, to promote ticket sales for league games and events. Utilize various sales techniques, such as cold calling, email campaigns, and networking, to drive ticket revenue.
- Build and Maintain Client Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners, local businesses, and season ticket holders. Provide exceptional customer service, address inquiries, resolve issues, and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Corporate Partnerships: Identify and secure corporate partnerships with businesses and brands that align with the league’s values and target audience. Negotiate and manage partnership agreements, ensuring deliverables and activations are fulfilled.
- Sponsorship Sales: Generate revenue by selling sponsorship opportunities to businesses, including signage, naming rights, advertising, and promotional activations. Develop customized sponsorship proposals tailored to the needs of potential sponsors.
- Meet Sales Targets: Meet or exceed individual and team sales targets by effectively managing sales pipelines, identifying prospects, and converting leads into ticket sales. Maintain accurate records of sales activities and track progress towards goals.
- Conduct Sales Presentations: Deliver compelling sales presentations to potential clients, highlighting the unique benefits of attending league games and events. Effectively communicate the value proposition, pricing options, and any exclusive experiences associated with game attendance.
- Collaborate with Marketing: Work closely with the Marketing department to coordinate sales and promotional campaigns. Provide input on marketing strategies, target audience identification, and promotional materials to optimize ticket sales.
- Merchandise Sales: Collaborate with the Merchandising department to drive merchandise sales, both online and at physical locations. Develop sales and promotional strategies to maximize merchandise revenue.
- Premium Experiences: Sell premium experiences, such as luxury suites, club memberships, and VIP packages, to enhance the fan experience and generate additional revenue streams. Build and maintain relationships with premium clients.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and implement sales strategies and tactics to achieve sales targets and revenue goals. Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities to identify new sales opportunities.
- Sales Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the Sales team and cross-functional departments, such as Marketing and Operations, to align sales efforts with overall business objectives. Coordinate sales campaigns and initiatives.
- Attend Networking Events: Represent the league at networking events, community gatherings, and industry conferences to expand the network of potential clients and partners. Actively engage with attendees, distribute promotional materials, and generate leads.
- Sales Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular sales reports and provide insights to management regarding sales trends, customer preferences, and revenue forecasts. Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance sales performance.
- Stay Updated on League News: Keep abreast of league news, team updates, and game schedules to effectively communicate with potential customers. Stay informed about competitors’ activities and market trends to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with Ticket Operations: Coordinate with the Ticket Operations department to ensure seamless ticket delivery, handle ticketing inquiries, and resolve any ticket-related issues that may arise.
- Maintain CRM Database: Update and maintain the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database with accurate customer information, sales activities, and communication history. Utilize CRM tools to manage leads, track sales progress, and foster long-term relationships with clients.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in sales, preferably in the sports or entertainment industry, is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Excellent presentation and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and sales tracking tools.
